ADGM Courts to launch AI-powered services by end-2026
Case volume expected to reach 1,200 for the year as courts prepare digital tools for document completion and claim review.

ADGM Courts is preparing to launch services powered by artificial intelligence by the end of 2026, with case numbers expected to reach around 1,200 for the year. The courts had recorded more than 900 cases by October 2026, according to a statement at the ADGM Global Media Forum.
Case volume and dispute types#
The courts recorded 882 cases when presentation figures were prepared and had surpassed 900 by the forum date. Commercial, civil, employment and property-related cases make up the caseload, with the volume and composition of disputes changing as ADGM grows. Al Reem Island's inclusion within ADGM's jurisdiction has brought additional tenancy and property disputes to the courts.
AI-powered tools and digital platform#
The planned solutions will assist users in navigating the judicial process, filling out necessary documents and obtaining court services. Faster claim reviews and the drafting of court orders and judgments are also among the functions the technology is expected to perform. These tools will extend the courts' electronic platform, launched in 2018, through which users can file claims, pay fees, submit documents, attend hearings and obtain judgments digitally. Parties located outside the UAE can use the platform to access court services without travelling to Abu Dhabi.
Mediation and digital asset disputes#
ADGM Courts is establishing a mediation panel focused on digital asset disputes. Digital asset specialists and legal practitioners will form the panel to assist parties in settling disputes without formal court proceedings. The courts offer mediation at no charge, with 17 per cent of mediated cases reaching settlement. Development work is underway on blockchain-based systems to authenticate and enforce judgments, though the solution remains in progress.
Jurisdiction and specialized divisions#
The courts handle commercial and civil disputes as the financial centre develops. Parties not based in ADGM may bring disputes to the courts where both sides have agreed to ADGM jurisdiction. Additional specialized divisions may be introduced depending on how case types and volumes develop, according to the statement at the forum. The courts are taking a cautious approach to AI adoption because of the responsibilities associated with judicial decision-making.
